Beta terms

Last updated 25 October 2026

The terms for using the free beta of Product Foundry Discovery, from DefoAI UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Berlin. By joining, you agree to them.

The beta

Discovery is in beta: by invitation only, free, and still changing. Features can change or go away, and the service can be unavailable at times. Keep your own copy of anything important: you can export your data from the account menu at any time.

Your account

Use only your own account and keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and tell us at privacy@product-foundry.app

What you may not do

  • Add anything that breaks the law or someone else’s rights.
  • Try to get into other people’s workspaces or our systems, or to overload them.
  • Upload malware, or files that aren’t what they claim to be.

Ending the beta or your access

You can delete your account at any time. We can end your access if you break these terms, and we can end the beta. Before the beta ends we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead, so you can export your data.

Liability

The beta is free and provided as it is. We are liable only for intent and gross negligence. This doesn’t limit our liability for injury to life, body or health, or under the German Product Liability Act.

Processing data on your behalf (Art. 28 GDPR)

When you add personal data about other people, such as interview notes, you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf. This section is our agreement for that processing:

  • Instructions: we process it only to provide Product Foundry to you, as you use it. If we think an instruction breaks data protection law, we tell you.
  • Confidentiality: only people who need to, and who are bound to confidentiality, can access it.
  • Security: data stored in the EU, encrypted connections, workspaces only their owner can open, and logs without email addresses, as our privacy notice describes.
  • Sub-processors: those named in our privacy notice. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before adding or replacing one, and you can object by deleting your account.
  • Help: we help you answer requests from the people concerned and meet your duties under Articles 32 to 36 GDPR.
  • Breaches: we tell you without undue delay once we know of a breach that affects this data.
  • Deletion: when you delete your account, we delete the data at once, and from our backups within 30 days.
  • Proof: on request, we give you the information you need to show this agreement is kept.

Please don’t add health, religious, political, sexual orientation or other special categories of personal data (Art. 9 GDPR) during the beta.

Applicable law

German law applies. If you use the beta as a consumer, you keep the protection of the law of the country you live in.
